Culture of the Region
The streets of Dakhla are tightly interwoven, mainly made up of small family corner shops, mechanics, tailors, patisseries, cafes, mobile phone shops and tele boutiques. The night time atmosphere is incredible; people are very friendly, the aroma of freshly grilled meat, herbs, spices, and roasting nuts, stimulate your senses as you absorb the ambience & excitement in the cool evening air.

Night time is when Dakhla becomes alive, day time opening hour for shops tend to be 10:00ish until 13:00, then its siesta until 16:00
Restaurants
There are plenty of Food out lets to choose from, ranging from fast food pizza, burgers, more traditional Moroccan cuisine, as well as more European Restaurants such as Casa Lola Spanish cuisine; Villa Dakhla French cuisine all reasonable pricing, hygienic and very good quality.

People of Dakhla tend to be very friendly towards European guests, often as you brows around the shops you will be offered a traditional cup of tea, enjoy the pleasure of their hospitality. Bartering the prices down it’s part of the fun!!
Artisan shops
There is a an Artisan centre in Dakhla, many of the little boutiques display local &neighboring countries jewelry, traditional clothing, nomadic wooden items& leather goods; all hand crafted &make a rememberal souvenir.
Ramadan :
This is an important religious time for Muslims, 30 days fasting, they do not eat, drink or smoke anything during daylight hours, most Moroccans are very easy going with regards to tourists being around; however it is a matter of respect not to eat, drink or smoke in front of them during this time.
